Silly Season

Politics in America is weird. Candidates are running for office far too early. It’s the silly season. The first voting is till 5 months away – the Iowa Caucus is February 1 and the NH Primary is February 9. By then our infatuation with candidates will have changed a couple of times, and I suspect that different people will be leading in the polls and will win the nomination. We need to stop paying attention for awhile, if only the media would let us. They’re way to interested, yet they do not focus on the important topics, like what do the candidates think are the most important issues? What will they do about the economy? I can’t believe that immigration and name calling are the most important topics, yet they dominate the Republican field. Let’s stop and focus on what is truly important.
