It’s Memorial Day – unofficial start of summer, but meant to honor the war dead. I was surprised to learn that this was started in the United States after the Civil War, and not World War I (I assume that all “war-type” holidays are World War I related). So let’s take a few minutes this weekend for the purpose of the holiday before returning to fun and family things.
We go through the week on today’s podcast. Let’s start on Monday and make it to Sunday with Pulp, Sakers, Elvis Costello, Giles, Giles and Fripp, Son Seals, Steely Dan, the Cure, the Easybeats, Dave Edmunds, the Monkees, Crowded House, De La Soul, Earth, Wind and Fire, the Velvet Underground, Doug Sahm, the Small Faces, and Maria McKee.
