Well, it happened. Met up with friends last night and had a great time. This was the first time since COVID that I saw old friends, and we had a fantastic evening. These were friends we met in college, and it took me a few minutes to remember that we’ve known each other for over 40 years.
40 years – talk about a long time. In fact, this is my 40th year since I graduated college. That makes me… old. Most of the time I don’t think about time and how old we’ve become, but then it hits me that I’ve been on Earth for a long time. When I was young I didn’t think that I would ever get old. Remember when we thought our teachers were old when they might have been in their mid-30’s (except a couple of teachers I had who were old and fighting having to retire)?
But let’s not think about getting old right now. Let me bask in the fact that I saw a bunch of great friends last night and enjoyed the evening. We didn’t focus much on getting older, but on what we had done through the years and laughed about our adventures. Good times.
